A friend showed me "the poor man's lino" recently. She was using the foam packages that meat comes in. I was rather impressed with what she could do with it. A rather ennobling thing for a lowly piece of meat transport.

Some people say they march to a different drummer. Me? I hear bagpipes.

Can I send money and an order but not have it filled until the new cards are available?

Sure thing! :) I should have them in about a week. Maybe less.

And when the new cards come in I'll use both sets for orders of two or more packs.

Payment sent for a set of new cards. This is great Shawn. Thank you for doing it. The cards have gotten really nice comments from my friends.

So odds are 1/26 or 3.846153846%

So your raised money is 260 USD + (- 3% Paypal fee) = 252.20 USD

Yep! Pretty good odds so far. :)

And money raised - that's close.

Everybody sends paypal funds differently, some using instant pay or using the send to friends/family option, so there is no fee, some send checks in the mail.

And a couple of the entries are of the free type where they mailed in a note to my PO box to enter.

How do you do this?

Btw, for nib repairs does it have to your brand or you do for any brand?

It's an option when you're in PayPal.

Any nib. If you look at the pics on my nib repairs page you can see one bent up Michelle Perchin nib that I repaired.

@ NP I sowwy you gotten charged a fee. Oops. I'll try remember next time.

Well I couldn't find that nib, but I've found this page:

It looks new-oldish.

Well I was asking because I bought a screwed up nibbed pen off the bay for cheap. (I don't have it yet) Burt from the pictures it looks bad, not sure how bad. But not bad as that ^^^

Interesting idea.

Is it open to non-USA residents? I couldn't find information one way or the other, but postage costs must surely be an issue.

Open to everybody worldwide. yeah - postage is high but I'm covering it. I'm also covering the post cards out of my own pocket. :)

Here's what 1250 cards look like. I'm sorting them now.

Okay you're gonna have to show me samples b/c I have no idea what that means.

Well Car and Computer stickers are just regular stickers that have a extra gloss or protection from liquids. But both tend to also use 3M backing which makes it very hard to peel off but when you do peel it of it peels off smoothly.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
