Hmmm...I need to enter this. It might be the only way I'll ever get a Shinobi...

Grace and Peace are already yours because God is the Creator of all of life and Jesus Christ the Redeemer of each and every life.

Finally put my money where my mouth is. I know your students will go out and remember this, and be better humans for it.

Some people say they march to a different drummer. Me? I hear bagpipes.

Thanks!

I ordered new cards last night. I orderd 500 of each style. 100 went too quickly. :) That's a good problem to have though. I still have about 15 or 20 sets. I'll announce when they come in. I think I picked some nice art. I hope everybody likes them.

The fronts are standard glossy - the backs are matte and take ink well. :)

The new post cards... should I reveal the images now?

Okay sure - why not. :)

The Chuck Close grid project is something I do with my art 2 kids. It's a different way of doing grid enlargement - and I hope it's more fun to do than your average grid enlargement. I start the lesson showing them some of Chuck's older work; giant ultra realistic portraits, and then I lead them into his newer more abstract work, which I personally prefer over the old. It's so much more fun.

And I love that you see some of Lichtenstein in that. She worked from a magazine ad - probably lipstick or something - but it does have his look, doesn't it? :)

Wow! Those are cool! Showed my budding artist 7th grader. She is quite impressed. I might have to throw more $ at this for one of the new packs. 1 and 4 are pretty something. Is 5 linoleum?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
