Waterman 412 Help

I just got a Waterman 412 silver filigree as a birthday present.

The plus side, it's nice.

The minus side ...

I took the grip section off to fill it. Somebody has force-fit/maybe glued a roller ball/ballpoint pen refill to the feed ... Guessing it's a ball-point refill (large retractable refill) because the blue ink seems to be blue "goo".

 

Thoughts on removing that?

Also, it appears that somebody had used India ink in the pen at some point.

Got the ballpoint refill out. Got the pen inked up. Thought that the ball point ink in the thing would cause problems, but apparently not so much.

Apart from some really dried and crusty ink of god knows what colors, the pen writes really well. Filled it with Iroshizuku Ama-Iro, and getting a really dark teal out of it at the moment. This is despite doing a lot of soaking.

Kind of wonder how old the pen is. It has initials engraved on it in script in such a way that it makes me think it's pretty old. I can also see just a bit of color change on the hard rubber body.

The script initials plus the floral filigree plus the size makes me wonder if it wasn't originally a woman's pen.
