What three Parkers do you currently desire?

I've seen similar questions asked in the General Topics forum, but how about keeping it amongst us Parker people this time.

I'm almost embarrassed by my list. Not having at least the first two in my collection almost means that my Parker Fan card needs to be revoked.

1) 61 Capillary fill - I only own c/c 61 models.

2) 75 Cisele - Alas I own no examples of the legendary 75.

3) 100

I'm more of a user than a collector. I've been accumulating pens for six years or so, but for some reason I still have a hard time paying >$100.00 for a pen. I guess that's why there are some obviously holes in my collection.

A "True Blue" and "True Blue"and a True Blue" or failing that a Lapis Lazuli Duofold, not fussy abut the size.

I don't own a 75 either and I probably have over 30 Parkers in my collection.

I've owned and subsequently sold three 61s with the capillary filler, including one with a rainbow cap. I don't like the capillary filler at all. It's too aggravating to clean :). I'd like to try a cartridge/converter fill 61 instead.

I actually don't have a "big red" Duofold. I have a Lapis and black & pearl, but not a red one.

The Parker 100 is an interesting model that doesn't get talked about much on here. Personally, I think they look really nice and I wrote with one at Susan Wirth's table at a pen show once, but I've never owned one.

Parker: Sonnet Flighter, Rialto Red Metallic Laque, IM Chiseled Gunmetal, Latitude Stainless, 45 Black, Duovac Blue Pearl Striped, 51 Standard Black, Vac Jr. Black, 51 Aero Black, 51 Vac Blue Cedar, Duofold Jr. Lapis, 51 Aero Demi Black, 51 Aero Demi Teal, 51 Aero Navy Gray, Duofold Pastel Moire Violet, Vac Major Golden Brown, Vac Deb. Emerald, 51 Vac Dove Gray, Vac Major Azure, Vac Jr. Silver Pearl, 51 Vac Black GF Cap, 51 Forest Green GF cap, Vac Jr. Silver Pearl, Duovac Senior Green & Gold, Duovac Deb. Black, Challenger Black, 51 Aero Midnight, Vac. Emerald Jr., Challenger Gray Pearl, 51 Vac Black, Duofold Int. Black, Duofold Jr. Red.

I really want a Lapis duofold, a Maxima Vacumatic in Azure or Burgundy, and a Vacumatic 51 since I don't have one. The first two are out of my current budget but hopefully I get a job at my university's library this year and would be able to afford a couple more expensive pens!

Lets set the bar high:

1: Three color Watermelon (aka rainbow) 51 Cap

2: Red Giant marked on cap and barrel

3: Club 51 Pencil (Ok not a pen but rarer than the pencil.)

If #3 doesn't count, I'll substitute an Aztec in full silver.

1. 51 Plum with Watermelon cap. It should be an intriguing mis-combination.

2. Sonnet Lacque Ambre, XF nib.

3. 51 Green C/C pen with lustraloy cap, fine nib. Should have gone for this when I had the chance.

First my list of pens I hope to get:

P61 Presidential (c/c version so I can use it)

P41 - it's the only Parker hooded pen I don't have an example of.

P50 Falcon

Now a list of pens where, if one is at a good price at the right time, I may get it:

P51 Vac.

P180

A red coloured 1920's Duofold.

Apart from the P61, I don't think it'll be too hard to get that list.

Regards,

Richard

My three on my wish list at this time would be.

51 Plum Pencil [ I have a pen ]

P51 Flighter Pen [ I have a flighter pencil ]

#3 The next Parker I pick up in the wild at an auction.

#3 Burgundy Vac to match my burgundy pencil.

Ken

P.S. I could stop collecting now and be fine with that [ What was I thinking ] I like being the keeper

of the Parkers that I obtain out in the wild. Heck I could open a vintage Parker Pen store with the inventory

that I have now.

I am looking for a Duofold Chocolate Pinstripe (this was a modern LE several years back) either bp or rb. I already have the Centennial fp and the mp.

We're talking win the lottery affording pens money, right? As I've mentioned, I have pretty simple tastes.

1st year 51, Malumnum jewels, Lustraloy or maybe a smooth Silver cap, Cedar Blue, factory Stub nib

A Hugh Jass, big honkin' Vac Maxima, Azure Blue, factory Stub nib, oh, and pristine transparency Thank You very much.

Sr. Duofold, Lapis, like new color, factory Stub

I'd Still probably pay Mike Masuyama to put his magic touch to those nibs though. Just a little tightnin' up.

Yep. That'd do me just fine.

51 Plum Pencil [ I have the pen]

Wasn't but a month or so ago I think, that I saw one of those on Fleabay. It didn't have the Plummer vultures dive bombing it and went for under 100 IIRC.

Bruce, I like the ambition. While we are thinking big, here is mine:

1. Ripley Vacumatic

2. Golden Arrow (though I will settle for a nice vacuum filler)

3. Light blue vacumatic prototype that is in the Chicago collection

On a more achievable level:

1. First year 51

2. Vacuum Filler

3. UK Duofold from the Valentine era with marbled celluloid

Bonus: not a parker but made by parker--a silver web Diamond Medal Vac Fil.

Certainly being ambitious. I just went for pens that I could someday realistically own. I do however like your gusto!

Wow! Well everyone seems to be going much bigger than my meager list of pens that I could realistically afford.

I'll revise my list. I'm not really into special editions, so most will still not match tho

Going Big:

1) Duofold Senior: In red with giant imprint

2) 51: Double jewel with gold empire cap

3) 75: Cisele (still on my list)

Realistic:

1) 75: Cisele

2) 61: Capillary fill, turquoise, with rainbow heritage gold and silver cap.

3) 100: Smoke bronze GT

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
