Sacramento Pen Posse October 25Th

Recommended Posts

Okay I am just going to put this out there and see if anyone is interested in coming!

I am planning on reserving the meeting room at the Elk Grove Public Library on Saturday, October 25th.

Two times available are from 10:00 am to 11:30 am or 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

Any preferences? Please voice them!

I need to reserve the room and time asap, so if anyone is interested in attending please let me know as soon as you can.

I planned this a couple months in advance hoping it will help people plan who want to come. :)

I will be there whether or not anyone else shows. It is a nice library and I have no problem sitting and reading. But I would be so delighted if anyone else wanted to join me and show their pens and ink! ;)

I hope this day will work for other folks. If you want to come but this day isn't good for you, just let me know. I can change it to a different date!

Thank you and I hope to see you there! :)

The Elk Grove Public Library is located at

8900 Elk Grove Blvd. Elk Grove, CA 95624

If I were going to be in the SF Bay Area, I would attend. I hope kudzu and Steve Curnow and a few others see your post. That's the way to do it!

Thank you! Hopefully people in the Sacramento area will see the post! I don't know how to make it more visible so people will see it. I am not sure who lives near by.

If you have friends in the area please pass the word along!

Thank you for the support!!! :)

I think a hour and a half is not long enough.

Once you get talking, the time will fly by.

Bad weekend for me: multiple family birthdays. But I'm so glad to know there is interest in a Sac Pen Posse!

I'll try my best to be there. Prefer the morning time slot. I can bring some samples of our bookbinding work.

Be sure to post this on the SF Pen Posse Facebook page!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
