Sorry...meisterstuck Ballpoint Authentication Please

Hi everyone. My thanks (and apologies if I have posted this incorrectly) in advance for any help that I may receive.

I recently discovered the world of Montblanc pens, and after purchasing a Starwalker Fineliner at a Montblanc boutique, I decided to play the fleabay gambling game and try my luck at a ballpoint. From what I can tell, this is a Meisterstuck Ballpoint from the Classique line. Everything seems to check out--the Pix under the clip, the serial number on the clip rim, the red glow when held to a bright light, as well as being able to accommodate a genuine refill. But since I'm still new, I wanted to get everyone's expert opinion. What do you think? Please let me know if I should provide more pictures. Thank you again!

It looks legit to me. Also, if the threads protrude from the cap, then that's a good sign that it's real, as fakes (that I've seen) don't have this thread protrusion.

They're great pens, enjoy!

Though not definitive, I check the cap band for spelling. It may require magnification.

The spelling is not "MEISTERSTUCK". The spelling is " MEISTERSTüCK " on the cap band.

At least, so it has been on all that I have inspected. .

This is correct, and the umlaut dots are inline with the rest of the letters, not above them. However, the Chinese have no problems in copying this. My fake has the ü on it's band

The refill is authentic, it seems, so I'll say the pen likely is too.

However, the engraving on the clip seems thick... as do the black bands on the cap.

You can see everything in the pictures apart from the spring, that hasn't come out of the barrel. That's a very good sign.

The serial number is in the correct font and format, and it's nice and straight. I would put money on this pen being authentic.

Refills are really easy to copy.....

Take a better picture of the inside of the box--sans pen.

Hello. Here are some more pictures of the inside of the box. Would you mind telling me what you are looking for? I compared it to my genuine MB, and it seems to be the same, but there are probably details that I am overlooking.

Thank you for pointing that out! I would not have noticed had you not mentioned it. It looks like the "ü" checks out on my pen.

It all looks authentic.

Thank you for all of your responses! I noticed you are quite active after looking through other threads :).

I have a quick follow up question. Are Meisterstücks all supposed to have the model number on the middle part? I saw it on a "how to authenticate" YouTube video, but he was talking about fountain pens so I wasn't sure.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
