What pen will you be using at work this week and what ink will you be using in those pens or that pen.

Ok, for me I am using two Sheaffers this week

1. A beautiful Sheaffer Legacy with Touch Down filling system in brushed gold cap and Jade Green body, using Pelikan Edelstein Topaz ink. 18K nib

2. A beautiful 1936 Sheaffer Balance black oversized lever filling system, mint condition. Iroshizuku Syo-Ro ink and 14K nib

Both above pens are in mint condition

So what pens and ink will you be using this week at work.

An Esterbrook SJ, 9788 nib, with Hero Blue-Black ink, which might be out of ink before the week is over.

A Lamy 2000, fine nib, Iroshizuku Yama-Guri.

A Pilot Custom Heritage 92, FM nib, with Sailor Jentle Doyou.

And because I have to fill out some forms on cheap paper where the above pens tend to bleed and feather, a couple of different ballpoints on different days, all with Fisher Space Pen refills.

I keep a pair of Hero 616's in my desk - one with Diamine Poppy Red, the other with P.R. Tanzanite. Those are for my notes and highlights.

I've been rotating between the Esterbrook J 9556 and the Parker 51 for my black - Waterman black (although I re-inked the Esterbrook at work today with Diamine Onyx Black).

I keep a small bottle of Diamine Poppy Red and Onyx Black in my desk, as well.

I purchased a bottle of PR Tanzanite on eBay and it has crystalized around the top of the jar which has given me some pause...have you experienced this? I picked up a de Atramentis Aubergine but I'm not as fond of it for some reason...I'll have to do a side by side to see why that is.

Thanks!

No problems from mine. I got it locally, so it may have had less exposure to any of the elements. The one thing the shop owner reminds me - every time I go there - is to shake the ink vigorously occasionally, and always before filling a pen.

How do you find the Custom Heritage 92 another pen on my bucket list. Which colour do you have.

I find it very smooth writing. I hesitantly spread the tines myself to make it a wetter writer, and now it's pretty much perfect for me. The seller I got it from called it "clear black" which I think is the same that I've seen others call "smoke".

I just switched from my Nemosine Singularity (F) to a Pilot Metropolitan (F). I use Noodler's Black for work.

Since I keep my pen on my computer keyboard at a public desk I wouldn't take anything too expensive. But I love writing with it. And it's fun to hear the comments. :D

Pilot G2 in burgundy and a Pilot V7 in blue. FPs don't do well for me at work. I need a pen that will write immediately when I pick it up. Yes, I have a Pilot VP, and love it. However, I don't want to take the little time to click it. I also need to quickly alternate between a pen for standard writing and a pen that I can press down on to imprint on a copy.

Franklin-Christoph, Italix, and Pilot pens are the best!
Iroshizuku, Diamine, and Waterman inks are my favorites!

Apica, Rhodia, and Clairefontaine make great paper!

A Parker 45 fine nib is in the pocket for for log entries, requiring black ink. I am using Everflo Basic Black.

A well-scrubbed Jinhao x250 is loaded with Noodler's Eel Blue for everything else, including lending. I keep

it nib-down, in the paper clip cup. It has written for nearly two weeks, without interruption. The converter is

almost empty. I will clean it and substitute a pen just arrived.

I was bored and searching Ebay for Parker 45's. I came across this unidentified Parker fountain pen. I was sole bidder.

Turns out that it is exactly what it appears to be. ----- SONNET.

I learned to recognize it on FPN. It has been a good day.

I have a platinum desk pen that stays at work with a carbon black cartridge.

This week's carry to work pens are a green Esterbrook J 9556 with Pilot blue and my fine yellow Pilot VP with a pilot black cartridge (using the cartridges to generate a stock of empties)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
