Mb Toffee Brown Discontinued?

Historian

I went to a Montblanc store today to get my hands on some Toffee Brown ink. The lady in the shop said that she thinks they discontinued the colour, as they have been ordering it, but never get any. Does anyone know what the situation is?

Thanks for the heads-up, I will stock up if still available at my boutique. It is daily ink and an ample supply will not go to waste.

It doesn't seem to be available anywhere near me, and ordering it would cost the same amount of money as the actual bottle. :(

I did get a bottle of Irish Green, though, and that looks amazing!

Yeah, amazon is way overpriced...

Did they say anything about availability? I'm travelling at the moment, so will see tomorrow whether I can pick up a bottle at another place.

They didnt, but it was the last bottle in the drawer, I am taking a 149 in there on Friday, I will see if they can order. Toffee brown has all the whiff of Racing Green.

They also had no Limited inks.

The Defoe pen was in there, best looking WE pen for a long time IMHO.

The store I went to had the limited edition Defoe ink. I asked whether I could have a look at it, and the lady in the shop got a bottle out also spread some of it on a piece of paper. It's a nice dark green, but it didn't rock my boat that much. The Irish Green is a lot nicer, imo.

It's still available for the normal price on Amazon here in the States, possibly because we're just waking up. I was planning to swing by my local boutique later today, will inquire about this.

Not being discontinued. I have it under good authority it is in stock at Mont Blanc. MB boutiques are notorious for not stocking much in the way of ink.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
