Thanks, it is a nice set but a bit on the small side, that´s why a senior would be perfect, but they are too expensive for me at the moment.

Great color. Note that the style is "Streamline" (or Streamlined), not "Slimline."

Enjoy it.

Off course, you are right, i was a bit too quick there.

Should be right now.

Thanks.

I wish you prosperity. the Senior can cost a couple of grand.

My suggestion: Do not post the cap.

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen:
Verweile doch, du bist so schön !

Yes, and I daren't put any ink in it in case it stains the plastic. Such are the problems with valuable pens. Somewhere I have a senior too but it needs a new sac and cleaning.

i tried to write with it but it´s too small without the cap, so i probably won´t be using it much.

Is that a mandarin yellow senior you have?.

Thank you Sasha, what material are they made of since they break so easy?

Celluloid, but for whatever reason the Mandarin celluloid is much more brittle than the other colors that Parker used. Mandarin Duofolds often have cracks or chips on the edge of the cap.

Very fine set! Congrats.

Thanks, yes i noticed that many mandarins have cracks, this one allso has a tiny crack in the cap below the rings. So i won´t be using it very much.

i sold a very fine set of these (a senior and a junior, below) to a friend a couple of years ago, for not too much (he collects yellow pens, and this would have crowned his collection)--i even threw in a pencil for free ;) i then went out to hunt for another set; unfortunately i couldn't find one just as nice, in the same price range, but even a slightly flawed mandarin looks good.

More gorgeous Mandarins!

I think I could make do with a nice Black Senior though, a grail pen of mine.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
