I purchased a skyline the other day. It's marine green in what I think is the standard size. Got it very, very cheap because the cap is busted. The clip is good, as is the top piece, but the 'body' of the cap has been severed in half, with one piece missing.

 

I've looked at the world's largest electronic auction site, and found nothing that might help. Is there some other cap that might fit? I don't mind frankenpen status on this. I've tested the nib, and it's a great writer. I'd like to slap some reasonably fitting cap on and put it into the rotation. I'd like this to be inexpensive.

If you throw an ad up in the classifieds you might find a restorer with spare caps to sell.

I've seen Skyline caps many times on that site you mentioned, including the color in question. Just be patient and one will show up. Note that there are 3 sizes of Skyline, and caps are not transferable between them.

I wasn't able to find in a quick google search, the uncapped length of each model. Does anybody know so that I can be sure to get the right cap?

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
