Hi.

 

I have a twsbi diamond 540. I did write well but the plastic barrel cracked and had a replacement from twsbi for the same. Now the issue is i dont have a twsbi tool to open up the piston.

 

Can any one help me regarding the alternatives i have for the same.

You could try to cut out a fitting tool from a sheet of metal or try to get a cheapo bike repair kit (they most of the time have pretty thin tools. I can get you measurements of the needed dimensions later today from my 580 tool when I'm back home so you know what you need to have to fit your TWSBI.

 

The tool is inside the pen box btw, hidden underneath the white holding part together with the silicon grease if you still got the box.

you can use a simple small plier or you can turn it using your teeth too. I'm not kidding; I have recently manged to repair this pen for one of my friend who is also a FPNer here.

Soooo, you didn't keep the piston wrench ? Did you keep the vial of silicon lube ?

Why would you want to remove the piston ? If to lubricate, do it through the section.

its to replace the cracked barrel lol since TWSBI only sends in the replacement parts meaning without the piston assembly

Learning all the time ! My 540 has not cracked, yet. Thank you.

Could a "wrench" be fashioned from a paper clip ?

Ya t was for the cracked barrel and i need to switch to replacement parts...

 

Manged it by making a slot of 7mm in my library card....

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
