Where Can I Find A Platinum 3776 Feed?

Hi guys,

Was pulling out my Platinum 3776 nib to realign but it got stuck.

So I decided to use extra effort and poof!

Out came all of them with the pin of the feed in 2 pieces.

Any ideas where I can buy an extra feed? =(

Or a section with 3776 M steel nib alternatively.

Hi,

I might be easier to get Platinum to repair the pen for you. They will be able to replace the feed. A lot of Japanese pen manufacturers don't really sell spare parts.

Stolen: Aurora Optima Demonstrator Red ends Medium nib. Serial number 1216 and Aurora 98 Cartridge/Converter Black bark finish (Archivi Storici) with gold cap. Reward if found. Please contact me if you have seen these pens.

Please send vial orders and other messages to fpninkvials funny-round-mark-thing gmail strange-mark-thing com. My shop is open once again if you need help with your pen.

Will someone with the name of "Jay" who emailed me through the email system provide me an email address? There was no email address provided, so I can't write back.

I live in Singapore and looks like it would be costly to send a 3776 steel nib pen for repair, I was thinking of buying one here: http://www.tylee.tw/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=390&search=3776&sort=p.price&order=ASC

Does anyone here live in Taiwan would mind to buy one for me and ship it over? (I'm willing to pay full costs upfront)

Hi,

If you have a local distributor, they may be able to help you take care of it.

Well, the issue is, there isn't anyone. Thus I tend to source overseas. =(

Hi,

It might be worth a shot. I sent a steel nibbed Platinum pen to Japan for repair last year, and they took care of me very well.

Well, I'm probably buying one, the shipping charges paired with the costs of the repair is enough to buy me a new one. =(

  • 2 weeks later...

I have been following this thread and noticed that so far no one has mentioned any place where a Platinum feed and nib might be bought.

I have a barrel, cap, and section but no feed and no nib. I bought this from another member and knew it as what it as so no problem there.

I thought I had a nib and feed that would work-wrong!!!

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Tom

From all I managed to find out, is either you send it for repair, and they get you one.Or you buy another pen and scavenge the parts =(

Sounds like those may be the only options, so time to start corresponding with Platinum I guess :-).

The States should have more Platinum retailers than Singapore I guess.

I always wondered if it was possible to cut and ebonite feed or cast a polyurethane rod then shape it into a feed for use :P

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
