I've received a package from Pendleton Brown earlier today with a nib for my TWSBI Diamond 580. After a little startup issue (resolved now - very nice turnaround time on the question there btw) it's now writing perfectly. I absolutely love this and I've just lost my search for nicest writing pen quest. What to do now, aside from collecting all the inks? :D

Disclaimer: Writing below not done with pen. Neither would gold colored ink work very well nor would my handwriting work very well (yet) to produce something like that. It's just my paper pad below :D

Nice picture!

I think I'll have to give these a try soon, but they look too modern for my tastes. Are there any that come in a non-demonstrator / transparent format?

Pens: Pilot Vanishing Point, Pelikan m150, Pilot Prera, Pilot Metropolitan, Parker Arrow, Countless amount of dip nibs. |
Ink: Waterman Black or O.S. Arsenic for note taking, Iroshizuku Fuyu Gaki & Diamine Oxblood or Ancient Copper for correspondence. Although the last two are nearly always subject to change.
Paper: Rhodia / Clairfontaine. Outstanding quality, and relatively inexpensive.
I think I've finally satiated my thirst for pens, but never ink!
Absolutely amazing B&M pen store.

A non transparent 580... not yet at least - TWSBI however seems to plan a lot of different things all the time so maybe something comes up in the future.

It's a bit springy by default. It's semi-flex now.

 

Here's my TWSBI nib, all written with Noodlers Black and the same pen body, just different nibs.

 

The first one is the new one by Pendleton, The second one is Factory default and the Third one is an FPR Flex nib ground by myself to full flex.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
