Cult Pens - Excellent Customer Service

As well as having an amazingly wide range of stock, I've just discovered that Cult Pens also provide excellent customer service.

A couple of months ago I bought a OHTO Super Promecha mechanical pencil from them - it also happened to be the cheapest price I could find. As usual, it arrived next day. Nice pencil, it went into my pencil case along with ten or so others.

Then last week as I was using it, the lead ran out, and the expected new one wouldn't feed through. I thought maybe that I had used leads that were the wrong size, but no - no 0.7mm leads would feed through. After dismantling the thing, I discovered a tiny bit of plastic caught in the jaws of the clutch. I'd no idea where this came from, but it was obviously part of the pencil. I thought that I had better ask for advice.

Their response was quick, with instructions on how to re-insert the little guide, which they admitted should never have come loose. This went surprisingly well, and the pencil worked. During discussions with Cult Pens, they did say if there was an ongoing problem to let them know, and they would replace it.

The next day I thought it might be a good idea just to check what happened when the lead ran out. Guess what? the new one wouldn't come through. When I emailed Cult pens to let them know (at 4.30pm), the almost instant reply was that they had just shipped that day's orders, but would send me one the next day.

True to their word, I now have a new pencil, that works.

No affiliation, obviously, just a very happy customer. Thank you Cult Pens. Now, I think I need to try their own brand inks ....

I'll dig with it.

One of my go-to online suppliers. A bit pricey on fountain pens but they stock some very hard-to-find refills and mechanical pencils. Exemplary service every time. Any problems (rare) are quickly resolved. I had to return a pen once and they reimbursed me the full costs including return postage. I never hesitate to recommend them.

You MUST try their Deep Dark own brand inks. Gorgeous colours. The Deep Dark Orange and DD Purple are wonderful.

I have had very good experiences with Cult Pens. I had an order that disappeared in the post about two years ago and they sent out a duplicate very quickly.

They have good offers on from time to time too, try this or that for 10p etc.

Not only do they have some great offers from time to time, they often throw in a freebie to try out.

I have a fare few freebies they've thrown in with orders. Those little Ohto clips are awfully useful.

Hi,

Cultpens is really the best. They always respond right away if you have any questions, and they have such a great selection.

I agree about Cult Pens. I received a box of cartridges and one of them had leaked. I received a replacement box and a little pen on a key chain (I think it can go on one) too.

Fantastic service and great prices. We are spoilt here for online shopping.

I try to alternate my purchases between them and The Writing Desk just to make things fair, in my head. B)

I had a problem with a Lamy 2000 multipen I bought from Cultpens and the customer service was excellent, I had a new pen shipped to me next day. Can't recommend them highly enough :D

I have used them only once & was greatly impressed.

Phoned them on a Monday to inquire about how the VAT would be handled for an out of country (Canadian) order. I ordered the goods over the telephone at the same time.

By Friday morning of that week, the package was already waiting for me in my Postal Super Box.

Wow!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
