  1. 1. Do you use pink ink?

    • Yes, it's my favorite color
    • Yes, why not!
    • Yes, but not very often
    • Only by accident
    • Yes - If that's the only color I had, but I'd hate myself in the morning
    • No, if that's the only color I had I'd give up fountain pens
    • Pink? What's that?

I don't use pink very often, but I voted "why not!" because I have no aversion to it and no hang-ups about it.

I find red a rather ugly colour unless it's muted in some way. Diamine Amaranth or Sailor Grenade mute it perfectly, as does pink. Getting a decent pale pink by watering down Grenade has kept me from impulse purchases of Ooji Cherry or anything else that makes me think of sakura blossom.

Pink - which Diana Vreeland would have told you was the navy blue of India - and lilac are also perfectly gentlemanly colours for shirts. And pink gin is a fine invention of the Royal Navy: indeed, I cannot think of a reason to be more grateful to my country's senior service.

pst... on the internet nobody knows you're a dog

I didn't vote, since it says no ladies allowed, but I hate pink. I don't buy pink clothes, don't use pink ink, and don't want anything pink around, if I can help it.

Purple, though....purple is the best.

Don't believe everything you think.

I started to vote and then saw the "guys only" part. And of course it's Charles who started the thread, since his views on the subject are sort of well-known (make that "somewhat notorious")....

Makes me think of Spanky and Alfalfa and the "He-men Woman Haters Club".....

PS -- If it had been an "open" poll I would have voted "Yes, why not?"

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

DITTO!

My mother had so much pink in her world, it made me a little sick. The only thing in my world that is pink is my grand-daughters pen/pencil case. She's only 6 and damn does she love her pinks and pastels!

FYI I didn't vote! No, girls allowed! Yea, yea, I get it! Old boys club wants to know!

I removed my vote of "Yes, why not!" when I revisited this thread and noticed that this is a guys only poll.

Sorry, no ladies allowed!!! That mean you, Amber!

I'm saving all my pink for you....

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Someone's animated that wonderful Bonzo song, My Pink Half of the Drainpipe...

My pink half of the drainpipe separates me from the incredibly fascinating story of your life and every day to day event in all its minute and tedious attention to detail... And was it a Thursday or a Wednesday? Or, oh, no, it wasn't though. Oh, who cares anyway because I do not so Norman, if you're normal, I intend to be a freak for the rest of my life, and I shall baffle you with cabbages and rhinoceroses in the kitchen, incessant quotations from "Now We Are Six" through the mouthpiece of Lord Snooty's giant poisoned electric head. So there!

Pink and purple are my favorite colors. I can't be manly and like certain colors?

I'll keep on struggling, 'cause that's the measure of a man.

Yay for Bonzo love! Now I shall have "Rockaliser Baby" in my head for the next little while.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
