I heard on the Pen Addict podcast there was a production delay or something.

The latest update, dated December 8, says:

1. They've hidden the intersections between the parts (with pictures -- it does look better).

2. Talks about their sample packaging.

3. Provides the following information re: shipments and such:  "The target we have set for our machining supplier is for half of the parts to be finished before the holiday period (19 [Dec] - 5 Jan our factories are mostly closed here in the UK) and the rest in early January. Around 150 pens have been produced so far but we now have an extra two machines at our disposal which will increase productivity dramatically. So we're looking to start shipping around the 15 January - 31 January which unfortunately adds a couple of weeks to the expected shipping date we mentioned previously."

Now, whether the pens will actually ship then -- I dunno. But that's the latest official info.

It's Kickstarter...the best course of action is pay your money and then forget all about it.  That way, instead of torturing yourself over missed ship dates, you get a nice surprise when it lands on your doorstep!  ;)

Thanks.  I knew it got delayed but didn't see the part you quoted above.  That's what I get for a quick skim.  I'm not torturing myself over delivery.  I half way don't expect it to ever show up.  I've had terrible luck with KS.  :P

Sounds like you bought a Pebble too.

Sorry, not bought.  "Funded".

I wondered how long would it take to just line up a few people and tell the 1st guy to screw in the nib then:

2nd guy: push in the converter

3rd guy: dip the pen in ink

4th guy: write a few lines

5th guy: put pen in USC and pull out cleaned pens in USC

6th guy: screw on the rest of the pen and put it in a pile.

I ordered one (not a backer) and it should have shipped and be here around the end of next week or so.

Has anyone here already received it?

Not yet.  Still waiting for the notice from them saying they're done making them.  :/

I exchanged a couple of emails, and they mentioned that the aluminium ones were ready, but maybe the titanium should arrive next week, so there is that. Though of course I have no way to check on that.

Edit: actually that was happening last week, so the Titanium pen should be ready this week, if their timing estimate was accurate.

I only ordered two TI nibs. (I prefer clips on smaller pens so held off in ordering one).  After several emails I got a reply that my nibs would be shipped on the 19th (January).  I’m guessing/hoping by the end of the month I should receive them.

I'm just guessing but the complicated orders might be shipped dead last. Like I ordered a Ti pen with Ti F nib + Ti M nib + Sleeve + Aluminum pen M.

But this project shattered my weight ideas. For some odd reason I though Ti would be the lightest compared to Al.

They are shipping from 19 - 31 JAN

Ti is heavier but also much stronger than Al, so perhaps if they wanted they could make the titanium pen lighter by making it much thinner, but it probably would not make much sense from a design and manufacturing perspective.

I am really looking forward to receiving this, even more than I anticipated. Hope it does not disappoint (and also that USPS (or whoever take it from Royal Mail) will actually deliver it and not just leave a notice without even bothering to ring the doorbell, they always do that with my pens/nibs etc, I hate them)

I think they said the Ti was like 50g and the AL is like 28g. Which threw me for a spin. Because that is what I thought: They would use Ti less as Ti is like steel. And then the pen would be light as AL and be stronger than AL. As my J95 weighs about 27g. I'm actually worried about my Ti pen with 50g of weight.

It would be very unlucky if they leave a tag on Friday and you can't get the package back till the next Monday.

Yeah, they just did that today with the flex nibs I was waiting from FPR... that's why I'm bitter now.

They always do that to my orders from GPC. Though my orders from JP always reaches the US on a Friday.... and customs keep it over the weekend.
