I Think I Made A Purple Pen For A Dude

Here is a new one I just got done with. Its mostly purplish color but with the metallic blue highlights I think it might be a purple pen for a dude? This pen features a black titanium clip and a medium ruthenium nib. The pen is 6 inches long capped and 5 1/2 inches long uncapped. It has 13mm triple start threads for the cap to body connection and a Schmidt k6 screw in converter. I am having a very hard time not keeping this one for myself :D . Questions and comments always welcome.

I don't know for sure which Dude you made it for, but some guy has a good looking pen now. Your decision for the clip and nib accents the tone of the pen. Very nice.

Beautiful pen. If it had an extra fine nib, I would be delighted and proud to own it. Great work.

I made a bottle stopper out of that material. It really surprised me how cool it looked when it came out.

I kept it. I use it proudly. And I'm most definitely a dude. That pen is awesome.

What a beauty - may a guy ask how much you charge for such a pen?

You bet! The pen is listed on ebay right now for $99.99. I think I picked up the first bid on it today. The best way to find it is to go to www.jandjwooddesigns.com This will take you to my store and all of my custom fountain pens are listed on the scrolling marquis on the top of the page. This pen is included in that bunch. I hope this helps. Thank you very much for your compliments.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
