Snorkel Cracked Grip Section

I worked on a few Sheaffer snorkels last night and things worked well until the last one, a later white dot desk pen. It has a fairly long crack in the grip section, so it won't fill. What should I repair it with? Or would I be better off to find a new grip section...and where?

 

Edit to add: It has a Triumph nib.

You need to find a donor pen.

BUT, you may/will find, as I did, that the threading is different on different pens.

I have a section that the threads for the nib is different than the others....grrrrr

So it will be a hit or miss excercise in finding a replacement.

After some reading, I see that there is a solvent that's suitable for Sheaffer plastics - methylene chloride. It's worth a whirl since I went ahead and bought a replacement section last night. This will be a good candidate to practice on.

I have one like that as well, ended up buying a gold-tube with a badly cracked body and grip section, more or less just for the spare parts. I'll run across the right donor at some point that needs a new nib and internals. Until then, it sits in my spares box.
