I saw this Kickstarter project today from Blerline and was really interested in its possibilities. It is for "Tracing Sticky Notes." In other words, it turns the iPad (or iPhone or Mini) into a lightbox so that one can trace things. This would be perfect for learning new calligraphy scripts or brushing up on them.

Not bad...don't forget to ask your kids NOT to press too hard with their pencils on the screen...

Pens: LAMY Safari Medium Nib with Delta Blue in converter, Bright Yellow LAMY Safari Fine Nib with R&K Helianthus in converter and a Baoer 051 with Deep Dark Purple in, you guessed it, a converter...

I think I would really like this especially if there were exemplifiers that fit the iPad screen. I could use it to work on my hobby while on trips when I have down time at airports or hotels.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy.       I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
