Newton Pens - Win A Pen! Scholarship Raffle

Newton Pens

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody! So I've started a new way to raise money for the Newton Pens scholarship - which raised just a bit oer $6000 last year! That meant 6 $1000 scholarships for 6 kids going into college. I'm very proud of this.

To keep paypal happy, and the government and tax people happy (yes I've paid taxes on the money collected in the past and will continue to in the future), I'm going to start selling post cards with student art on them to raise the money for the scholarships.

When you buy post cards you are automatically entered into the raffle. A pack of 5 cards is $10.

So there's the first part that keeps paypal and the IRS happy - selling a product.

The next part to keep everybody happy is to make the raffle totally free.

Do you want to enter the raffle for a free pen? Okay.

Do you want to enter for free? Sure.

How do you do this? You send me an email to newtonpenspay@gmail.com letting me know that you've sent a note in the mail as your entry form, and I'll give you a number.

This is the address

Newton Pens

PO Box 6048

Hot Springs, Ar. 71902

That's it.

This raffle is going to run until August 3rd.

Go here to enter:

Thanks!

So far sold three packs of postcards. :)

Thanks everybody.

Shawn

Hi everybody! So far I've sold 9 packs of postcards - which means $90 for the scholarship - and several more have asked to enter free.

Remember - to enter free all you have to do is send a note or postcard in the mail - USPS for example - and let me know when you send it - and I'll give you a raffle number. The only way to enter without buying postcards is to send me a note in the mail. International is fine (and awesome) so don't hesitate. If you don't ever send in a note you don't have a chance to win! :)

Thanks!

Just entered the raffle!! Looking forward to receiving my postcards.

They will come in handy since I'm a member of Postcrossing.

Well, I don't mean to gloat, but I won! Anyways - can't wait. I'll be sure to post a review for everyone on FPN to see, but I'd like to say a little something... Shawn has been great to talk to and choose a pen with, his customer service is SUPERB (especially considering it's a raffle pen - not something he's being paid to do) and I am so very impressed with his options and I'm sure I'll love the pen when it arrives (of course, I am not at all affiliated with Shawn). Thanks a lot!

Life is only the sum of your experiences. Make the best of them.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
