Agreed. I wonder how long it will last. Predicting short half-life on sale.

I would say within 6 hours it will sell now as the word is getting out on FPN.

I already have a Plum pen but no pencil as of yet.

Gold filled caps too. I felt tempted, although I already have a set with Lustraloy caps. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.

Thought these were 300 sets.

Live and learn.

It is sold so I couldn't go for it.

Gone.

Again, with the 14 day return policy a no brainer "gamble".

Were it not for the stated return policy though there'd be a bit of an issue for me.

AGAIN, yet Another seller who massively flunked Ruler 101. Your bet on what Size that pen is isn't going to be Nearly as sure of one as to what color it is.

Yeah, Ok, $156 for a Demi set like that isn't any Bad deal, but it's NOT in the same league of "Sumgai" as snagging a full size Plummer pen that flies totally under the radar for say $75.

I just can't quite figure out which is the more moronic move, offering it for a BIN for $150 or not giving a decent measurement. ESPECIALLY, if you know or have heard enough to know Plums are Special, it takes about a whole 45 more seconds to search on past sales of Plum Demi and see the SUBSTANTIAL price difference between it and a full size.

I would bet from what little I can see here that this one is a Demi. [EDIT] IF it IS a Demi, I'd say the buyer got if for $50 maybe $75 less than the "going" rate.

I would have bought it if I had not have already bought 2 P51 sets [ live local auction at $87.50 ]; 3 P51's & a Vac [ missing cap ] local estate sale $225 [2 P51's are hot stamped Wisconsin Legislature 1947 (vac) & 1957 (Aero) ] $205 same estate sale two days earlier Ink bottles, desk set, Azure Blue Vac with nice wide cap band & a few other pens. Another Parker counter display case $65 & another Vac for $75 out in the wild. I do not worry about what I spent as I was on stay at home vacation if I did go on a trip I would have spent even more.

I believe this one is a demi set. Looked like it. Even with a couple of flaws, that is a good deal. I have seen a demi set with gold filled caps go near $400. When you are selling this stuff, you can't always think of everything that the specialist will look for. I used to forget some details when I listed stuff in days of yore.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
