Yeah, saw it, but I have one on the way from a reputable dealer, in better condition with a flexy nib and a total refurb.

63. Eversharp Symphony Slipper Cap FP Burgundy may need resaccing.

I actually had one just like this from this seller. Turned out to have a repaired thread section and what may be a crack in the barrel this was acquired before I realised I should have been listening to you guys. It looks like the seller has been doing a bit of internet research and has added some detail to his descriptions, but be aware of the problems I had. My 'Loewy' is currently with Sean getting a good seeing to. Overall an expensive mistake for me.

My 'Loewy' is currently with Sean getting a good seeing to. Overall an expensive mistake for me.

Cryptos, I'm sure you know now that pen should (IMO) gone back to the seller. OR At the least, you should have been able to negotiate a partial refund to go towards the repair you had no idea was needed.

If someone only sells a FP once every 3rd Blue Moon, I would for example, not expect them to know how to see if a lever filler would take up water and hold it. However, it Doesn't Take a Rocket Surgeon to know that a crack or and obvious repair of one is not Normal and at the very least should be noted. (Unless the seller is legally blind then the same person who loads the listing in for them can look closely at the item before they do. )

True, the only place that restores Onoto piston-fillers in the US charges around $40-$50. I like internal filling systems but some days you just want to write for fun instead of guessing well, I think this FP won't leak on me.

Parker aerometrics are a great compromise for the classic look and modern tech.

Sadly Bruce you are right, but that Loewy Symphony arrived over a month ago. I didn't notice the repair on the threads - Sean at Write on Time did, and he said it was a good job. He also spotted the potential crack on the barrel. I thought it was just a surface scar. Anyway, perhaps it is too late now to contact the seller about these issues?

Well, I've written to the guy who sold me the Loewy Eversharp. Just to point out the the crack in the barrel and the repair to the thread section. Not sure whether it will make much difference though, but I can always ask I suppose. Still, a valuable lesson in listening to my betters before jumping in to a deal.

When it rains, it pours. I picked up #40 (I've got snorkel parts on the bench), #76 and #79. Usually I only end up with one out of the bunch. I'm gonna have some 'splainin' to do to the Boss. And, funny thing, I was looking at all of the Esties that I have and realized that I have a bunch of dollar pens, transitionals, SJs, LJs and desk pens, but exactly two Js. Huh. Now I'll have three.

BTW, that Parker 45 desk pen from last week turned out to be a regular 45 in a desk pen base - which is OK, since I ran across a cheap 45 cap and a cheap 45 desk pen with no base.
