Better Proportions

Here are two pens that I did today that are almost identical. I was really trying to come up with a balanced and pleasing design... the only problem is I feel like the basic shape of these 2 pens is exactly the same as everybody else's design... Oh well ... don't try reinventing the wheel right? They are around 5 3/4" long capped, weigh in at 24 grams and have medium jowo nibs with Schmidt k6 converters. I would really love to know what everyone thinks of the design. I'd also be curious to know if anyone likes the blanks and color scheme.

i don't care for the blanks, but I do like the shape and faceting. I haven't sen many turners do that; so I am a bit confused by your statement that your pens look the same as others shown in this topic. I also think the tools used constrain the shapes you can do. I assume turning pens for money requires a certain efficiency in work that limits the time spent working on unusual shapes?
