Hi All

Does anyone know where to source a Twsbi 580 below the costs shown on Amazon? Are there any coupon codes or other discounts out there right now. I want to buy a few as gifts but want the lowest price.

Best

You save $5 by using most pen-specific retailers like Anderson or Goulet- $50 instead of $55 and $5 more for stub nibs. The prices on Amazon are just a little higher for everything TWSBI.

I would easily pay the premium over the cheapest place and give my business to Goulet Pens.

No questions...

If affordability is a factor, I would save and give the business to a company where ethics play a large roll in their model.

That's $55 with free shipping.

If you don't mind used you can save around 20% if you buy from a private seller. I think $55 is the lowest price new online.

It is TWSBI pens you are talking about. They are cheap, coupon or not. Steal some if you want them cheaper that $50 each, cuz I doubt you will find it at a cheaper price.

If you find a 580 below $50 then it is not in terms of the TWSBI retailer agreement. Retailers are allowed to charge more, but not less than MSRP.

Hi All

Can anyone recommend a good ink to use with this pen? I have a nice dark blue. I have Lamy ink that i use in my 2000 but not sure how well this will work with this Twsbi?

Thanks

All inks intended for use in fountain pens should work well with the TWSBI. I've even used the blue ink that shall not be named.

After I bought a 540 new, I found a 530 for $32. I suspect you can find a 540 for $35. Perhaps, when the next

generation is released, 580 will be very easy to buy.

Isellpens is also great. Usually the lowest price, great service. They and Goulet are boss for TWSBI.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
