Yes, mine went through, too. Thanks.

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

There is a bad backlog, sorry.

Work has been crazy of late, and in addition, things like bookkeeping have to be done as well, both for FPN and my private companies - been a real nightmare the last few months. We have now found a way to make this slightly easier, but it still is a tremendous load, unfortunately, so time to do anything else is quite restricted.

Anyway, slowly picking up again now.

As to registrations etc. for Iridium or Supporter membership donations: PayPal had started acting weird, which it sometimes does. That's fixed, and we have been trying to fix all members who have donated wanting Supporter membership, but it isn't always obvious, so if we did miss out on correcting you, let me know, preferably via email, and we'll tackle this asap.

Please do note you'd have to have used the correct type of donation, otherwise this still won't work. We are looking at ways to make this more clear in the very near future.

HTH, warm regards, Wim

Can't find your email. Not clear what the correct donation is. I made a donation on 18 september. It's not been acknowledged. I have opened a Paypal dispute that should have reached you. Please explain about the correct donation. I donated less than the second time, the amount of the first time, and I made it recurrent. Is that not correct?

Hi M,

The recurrent donation is a different one from the one that gives you the Iridium badge, I am afraid. I'll contact you b/c.

Just to be clear:

There are two versions of donation.

1: the one that leads to Iridium badges

2: anonymous, that leads to many thanks, but uttered in silence, so to say.

Be sure you choose the right one.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
