Hey, I've sent them... well, not blue diamond, I haven't mixed that one up yet.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

A message from Susemai...

Just about mixing:

Batch A and C should be fine mixed together.

Batch B and D should be fine mixed together.

A and C are one dye group and B and D are another dye group so there could be unpredictable results.

Batches A and B are pretty much conventional formulas with the normal additives in the normal amounts..

Batches C and D contain a lesser number of additives and smaller amounts of the additives, but all batches use the same additives.

But I've also just discovered that there are groups within groups and families within families of these dyes.

I'm pretty sure they won't explode and the worst that could happen is that they may congeal or clump or change colour in time. Probably most of the weird things that happen when mixing different brands of inks are due to incompatibilities with the additives more so than the dyes.

I've had this blend in my pen now for 3 days with no problems.

Suffice to say, if possible, I would love to help beta test inks. I am not sure if the Arizona temperatures will cause issues with the ink, though...

Please let me know what information you need, and thank you!

I"m in Las Vegas so I wouldn't think your test is that much worse.

Just read the directions on the first posts and then PM me you address. You'll be on the next list. You will need to sign up on the individual thread for each ink.

Sinistral1 is going to take over the logistics. I've decided that we are going to move to padded envelopes and mail all the remaining samples out in a single mailing.

Here is the cost break down. BTW, ink is Blue Cashmere.

Oh, no, 50 lucky testers. Each lucky tester gets 9 inks. Though I may include a sample of another ink to make it 10.

I've sent these out at 16% and 8% - add a line here to tell Susemai if you prefer 16% or 8% when you receive the samples. I had thought you'd prefer receiving 16% then you can play more with dilution.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
