That looks really nice, i wonder what the price is going to be?

Looks like the section is also made in aluminum, don´t think everyone is going to like that.

I´m happy with my regular 580 so i don´t see any need to get this one.

Does this mean we're not getting the anodized ones right away?

Now, do I wait for green and orange anodized ones or jump on the raw Al...

So many inks, so little time...

I think it is supposed to be $60 according to their Facebook page.

It looks awesome, but I am going to hold out for the colors.

What kind of nib does it sport? The stiff one like the Jowo, or the springy one like the Bock (on the 540 pens)? Nice looking thing.

that's a beauty.. now i have to figure out if i'm going to get that first or the Vac 700...

I know right? TWSBI is killing me. I want the 580AL, a new Vac, and probably one of the new white and rose gold minis they put on their Facebook page. *sigh*

I have a Mini and a Micarta 2; I would love to get another TWSBI. They torture us with all of these prototypes that they may or may not finally produce, but it is wonderful that they keep developing new pens for our world community.

I still need to get a Vac 700, I rather like the 580AL, I'm hoping that they decide to bring their wooden bodied pens into production, too, and the Mini Vac intrigues me, and....

Get another Micarta v2 first. If it could be said that i have a grail pen, that is it. I have one and i have another in the mail. They will be not be around for much longer. I´m just trying to keep myself from getting a third, so i´m sure i have my Micarta needs covered for the future.

I might actually try my hand at writing a review for that pen.

That really does look beautiful. Not sure about the metal section. I'll be interested to read some reviews when folks start receiving these!

Did you go clip or clipless on the micarta?

Am I missing something? Whats the difference between this and the Diamond 580 clear? I'm on a major TWSBI craze right now; just bought the mini classic and the new 580 RB to go with my 580 in rose gold, and have the Vac 700 and the Micarta v2 in my sight, but this...

Forget the AL. Me wants the Rb. :o and in a 1.5 stubby.

Just got the RB and I luuuvs it! I initially filled it up with Noodler's Tchaikovsky and it was aesthetically pleasing with the red, purple and blue combo, but it was really dry and quite scratchy. I thought I had a $50 dud on my hands. I flushed that out and re-inked it with one of my favorite browns, J Herbin's Cafe des Iles, and now it drives like a dream!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
