Hello,

I was preparing some pens for the Bay and became frustrated with a Conklin Symetric [sic] I have in its original box.  It's a color I don't see on the Conklin image pages, Yellow Pearl.  It has the crescent above the clip, which is indeed a spring clip.  The warranty sheet has a misspelling (well an "it's" for "its") and does not resemble those I see in some of the eBay ads.

Why would somebody counterfeit a $90 pen?

Kathleen

Symetric Label.jpg

Sorry, can't see how to edit.  The box says "Symetric" but the pen itself is stamped "Symetrik" between the cap bands.

Fred,

I saw that, but thought it might be different.  Same swirly patterns, though.  I actually like the pen, and it is certainly cheerful!

"Why would somebody counterfeit a $90 pen?"

In another FPN forum I just learned that counterfeit Lamy Safari's are showing up on eBay.  Thats a pen that normally sells for less than $30!

That is a different story.
That pen is branded with a name different from lamy, but is a copy of lamy.

Is like hero 616 and parker 51......

I don't think so.  According to this recent thread, these counterfeits are Lamy branded

There are lot of counterfeit Hero 616s - one of the cheapest pens on the market, so...

I finally decided it is not counterfeit. Another Conklin from a trusted source has the same apostrophe error in the paperwork.

I suspect that the pens are made and boxed overseas by people not entirely familiar with English.
