I will be in the Cafe a bit ahead of time. People can email me at : sidss1(AT) gmail.com

if they have any questions, and the address of the Cafe is as follows:

Sweetwaters Coffee

Plymouth Green Croosing

There is ample free parking just outside the cafe, and there are 2 restaurants in the same complex if folks want a bite.

We have had a few Pen Posse meetings and they have been fun and very enjoyable. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Thank you.

I'm hoping to be there, but have some possible family obligations, so I won't know for sure until closer to the date.

So besides myself and Hector, Keith, Martin and Rachel, who else is coming for the Pen-Posse meeting next Sunday, the 27th of July?

I'll be there.

I have a request for anyone who is coming, if you are able. I am trying to find samples of either grey or sepia inks to test drive. I am willing to trade for samples of any of the colors I have.

If you are interested, let me know what you have, and what you might want in exchange, and maybe we can work a trade.

Thanks,

Keith

So the meeting is tomorrow at 2pm. I will get there a few minutes ahead of time to get us a nice place. The address is as follows:

Sweetwaters Cafe on Plymouth Road

Plymouth Green Crossing

3393 Plymouth Road

Ann Arbor, MI-48105

There is ample free parking available, if spots in front of the Cafe are taken, just drive around the corner of the building, and there is a pretty big parking lot, maybe about 75 to a 100 yards away.

See y'all tomorrow!!!! :):)

If anyone coming to the meetup tomorrow happens to own a Sheaffer Targa, perhaps you could bring it.

Any interest in a bottle of MB Burgundy? It has one of the bottles with the bad glass at the neck, so you'd have to transfer it to another container.

Whomever is welcome to it, or bring small containers and all take samples.

Also, any interest in a Island Sand Carene LE? Too heavy for me, and sits unused after Tom M test drive confirming its heft rather than any issues. Have the original boxes, and will consider any reasonable offer.

Any estie interest? Plan to keep the stickered blue.

Not sure what I can gather quickly in the am, before morning commitment, but do let me know so I know if there's enough interest for me to dig with purpose.

p2p,

I am interested in the MB Burgundy. I've heard good things.

All,

I am bringing a handful of samples as well: some stuff from ink drops I did not use, and samples of three customs from the forums: Binder Blurple, Binder Burgundy, and Faux Penman Sapphire. I'll bring some empty sample vials to share.

Anyone interested in a bottle of Iroshizuku Kon-peki? It is not tripping my trigger as I thought it might. Reasonable offers accepted, or willing to trade if you have anything you want to bring.

I'm also bringing some of the pen stands I have been working on. I'd like to get some feedback.

See you in three hours.

Keith

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
