am i weird for finding the pen tacky?

So we left it at that. He showed us the maneuver after a sort. B*****d stole my kill.'

Still thinking about the 146 very hard. with a fine nib. Just don't know if I want to spend that much money on a 146. I have a vintage 146 that works so well with a medium nib. It would be less expensive to do a nib swap on it and continue my writing. Spend the money on a Delta Dolce Vito piston, a Conway Stewart or a vintage Aurora 88k. Its just a battle that I wage in my mind and I am not sure who is going to win out. . I have 3 writer editions, the heritage and a 149, 146 and 145. ll very good riting instruments. I like the rose gold nd the nib appearance, just so so on the black body (like all the other ones).

MB149 is a FAT pen. you will feel akward for a moment but the 146 is the ultimate daily writing pen. thats my 2 cents

but 149 can be an excellent daily pen when you develop palmer hold method, trigrip and avoiding the death grip. let the girth rest in your hand.

i wrote about 7 pages worth of bird watching useless facts using 149. i was testing inks ahem :) a lot of inks. ( i found iroshizuku asa gao the best for medium nib)

Bought one at the MB Boutique in NYC. They threw in a free receipt with my purchase. No ink. I got an F nib, and it skips quite a bit. Took it back to MB, and they knew nothing about the problem. Gave me some others to try, and one skipped less for me. Perhaps my handwriting style. I have an older (early 2000's) 149 which works well. It does look great with the monotone nib and rose gold hardware, though. Gonna wait and send the pen to someone who knows pens, and does nib work. Overall, not quite thrilled with the MB service experience, and that's going in expecting NOTHING. They delivered.

I just got mine here in abu dhabi a few days ago. a beautiful pen as hefty but not nearly as heavy as the Balzac and a gorgeous M nib.

Hey all. Those with the 90th anniversary edition. Can you confirm if the word "Pix" is missing from the pen? I'm worried that mine doesn't say it but it was bought from a MB boutique.

Fret not. No, the trademarked Pix is not on the 90th Anniv. pen as it is not on every pen either.

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

Yes the new special edition appears to only be available in Classique sized FP, RB, and BP on the German website. It hasn't shown up yet on the U.S. site. But WOW that is just a stunning look. Really hope they make it in the Legrand size. I'm glad to see the MOP star!! :D

For a collector of the Classique sized pen like myself, this has to be a grail, :)

It looks...stunning.

I like the anniversary's rose gold, but the giant blaring "90" on the nib is a big turn-off to me.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
