Hello All,

Ive been looking to get a couple of things for work/home.

First off, is the editors desk still available? http://www.levimage.com/pdf/Editor'sDesk_FA4195.pdf

I cant find it on their webpage anywhere. If its not is there an equivalent item from someone else?

Also does anyone have any experience with the following sets/individual items?

They appear to have discontinued it. Lately, they have discontinued the items I was saving for. Very frustrating. In fact, they've dropped so many things that I wonder if they're in trouble.

Levenger_Outlet is a seller on ebay, and they have something similar to the Editor's Desk listed.

You might also try calling them to see if they can locate one for you.

There are also a couple of similar multi-level desks on Amazon.

I have several of the desk items. I have the unifer, desk pad and in-box. All are quite good quality. I like the unifer organizer quite a lot.

We completely redecorated our study a few years a go and had some nice walnut furniture custom made to fit the small space. Once we did that, our old, cheap desk stuff just looked horrible. A great example of unanticipated add-on expenses. But it looks great.

I have the editor's desk. I just bought it from ebay. They turn up there and on craigslist from time to time. I got mine for less than $50 but they usually sell for about $100. I also have the Writer's Oasis that I purchased new. They are very different. The editor's desk is really large and study the writer's oasis isn't but it can be adjusted to various levels.

I have complained to the manager of my local store about how they are constantly discontinuing popular items and she said it was a problem for her as well. She has worked for the company for a long time and they are constantly dropping items and bringing in new items. She didn't seem too happy about it either since she gets to deal with all the complaints.

The editor's desk has been discontinued for quite a while. It doesn't mean they will not dig one up and put it for sale in the ebay outlet but I would be surprised. Still it can be had if you're willing to go to craigslist or ebay.

Here's a listing on ebay currently: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Levenger-Editors-Reading-Tabletop-Desktop-Desk-Large-25-DK-Wood-Wooden-14-lbs-/111356009340?pt=US_Desks_and_Home_Office_Furniture&hash=item19ed55db7c

I have the low angle version of this slope at work, if you like the angle it would be worth what they are asking.

This might be late, but Levenger has 3 retail stores. I'm pretty sure I saw a fountain pen at the Chicago location that is no longer in the online True Writer line. Wish I'd really looked at it because I might would have bought it.

1+ their last couple of catalogs seem to concentrate on leather bags & cases rather than on desk & writing accessories.

I have an Editor's Desk and have used it maybe twice in the 10 years I've owned it. I just can't seem to find the right place to put it to use it. I think that's largely because it adds height and I need to have a chair with an adjustable height (I prefer wood chairs that don't adjust, my desk was adjusted to fit my chair at home).

It's beautiful and I love it so much but it just doesn't seem to work for me.

I don't think they are in trouble. They sent an email with a survey. I took it. It was about loyalty cards. So it seems like they might be working on a loyalty program.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
