Hello -

I'm happy to announce we are starting to carry a new model made by Ranga pens of India, and we also have some nice new standard ebonite colors for our existing models.

Let's start with the new model, Ranga 8. It's a torpedo shaped pen that's almost 6 inches long. The version we are stocking is fitted with a screw in nib unit made by JoWo of Germany, and takes international cartridges. We ship it with a converter, in a Peyton Street Pens gift box, for $80 with free US shipping.

We've also got two new colors for some of our existing Ranga models .... yellow ripple, and a red ripple that is closer to red than the standard "pink ripple" Ranga color. These are for Model 4C, Model 3, and our Sheaffer Imperial nib'd Model 4CS. We have a wider nib selection for the German nibbed pens which now includes extra fine and 1.1mm and 1.5mm, though only in the polished steel.

Here's the 4C in the new red ripple color:

Here's Model 3 in the new colors .... Red Ripple, Yellow Ripple

And we've also added some new colors for the 4CS pens which accept Sheaffer Imperial inlaid nibs.... still priced at $68.

Thanks for your continued interest in our ebonite pens. We're really enjoying our relationship with Ranga of India.

Best wishes,

TERI

Sweet. That Ranga 8 is a nice looking pen. Maybe the Ranga Cruiser will get replenished with new choices next.

We don't plan on re-stocking the Cruiser once the current inventory sells out, though we will continue to carry the Soquel pen which has the same filling system and flexible Eversharp nibs.

We're in the process of developing a new slim ebonite model for our Eversharp flex nibs that uses refillable ink cartridge units ..... stay tuned! We should have this new model by the end of May, and we'll debut it at the June 8 Pen Posse here at Peyton Street Pens.

Thanks for your interest!

How do these compare in terms of size to the rest of the models? Also is the smooth black pen smaller or it's just an optical illusion.

These are handmade, so there can be a small size variation from pen to pen.

The new model 8 is the same length as the other oversize Rangas, such as the 3, 4c and Bamboo. It is, however, more slender. We're putting together a comparison shot today.

These pens are tempting me hard. I may have to give in before long.

Are you guys planning to restock the other colors of the acrylic Ranga pens?

For some reason, the acrylic pens have not been good sellers for us. I suppose acrylic isn't as exotic as ebonite, but they certainly turned out nicely and we loved the colors. The only model we carried in acrylic was the 4CS model with the Sheaffer Imperial nibs.....

I have a Model 3 and a Model 5, only when I bought them they were known as the Varuna Rajan and Gajendra, respectively. The Rajan is inked with Noodler's Zhivago and has a medium steel nib. Very smooth writer. The Gajendra is uninked at the moment but I've been eyeing it up. That one has a steel B nib from Brian Gray and is also a great writer.

Great pens in general!
