Hi Prvt. Toter,

I´ve noticed that the predators (beside the frogfish) are really underrepresented in your underwater scene.

Let me fix this for you and give them a companion to "play" with. ;)

Hello FPN'ers! Good to see that you are keeping the thread alive! I'll try to catch up what I've been missing lately, amongst other I can see that there's been some questions about the Falcon feed. I can post some photos of my pen later to show what I've done with it.

As I can see, the world is still full of beautiful pens and ink colours. I have got a new iroshizuku really nice blue ink (tsuki-yo), inked it up in my Pilot Custom falcon nib pen and wanted to show it to you. The pen wrote beautifully until the #%&"!!? feed got into it's mood again. I really don't understand why Pilot spend all that energy producing beautiful pens and nibs, and ignore the fact that the feeds on these pens suck!!!! I will not buy another Pilot pen until they start making proper feeds! Now I've turned my attention to Sailor pens. Well enough of my complaining. Here is a new brush pen, a Japanese masterpiece!

Ptero- as requested, Do-Do has entered

The pen was another recent "restoration" project. I debated using the nib out of this for my striped Duofold but decided to bring this back to life for either my desk at work or for strictly home use.

fpn_1375665788__55.jpgPterodactylus,

If you seardh Amazon for "pen and ink sketch" you will find a line up of products. I have a local mom and pop supply store that had these... very low budget pen, but find I use it for work as it writes well on most papers (fine fine) and won't break the bank if I lose it.

Hi Tas,

a short abstract of the Bird wars story till now.

Main protagonists so far:

Eagle (introduced by me):

Austrian snooty nosed horny aristrocrat, sees himself as King of pen birds.

Seagull (introduced by Line):

Norway viking warrior bird, started the conflict with Eagle, hiding from Eagle.

Turkey (introduced by Prvt. Toter):

American, possible NSA agent, now chief engineer on board of the Eagle 1

Dodo (introduced by Irrigger):

Ex shop owner in North Africa, brilliant organizer, now supply officer on board of the Eagle 1

Camel (introduced by Attila):

Ex customs officer in North Africa, possible spy, possible Middle Earth creature, now helmsman on board of the Eagle 1

Mrs. Frosty (introduced by Amber):

Horny Snowwoman, killed Mr. Frosty (gave him a last final blow job), mother of Bozo, located in Las Vegas

Bozo (introduced by Amber):

Naive young son of Mrs. Frosty, Flamethrower Girl has sexual power over him

Inky (introduced by Amber):

Witty Ink drop creature, reporter, knows always almost everything.

Flamethrower Girl (introduced by me):

Cougar, had an affair with Mr. Frosty which led to his termination, plays with Bozo

Uncle Gru (introduced by me):

Zombie snowman, relative of of the Frosty family

David I. Frankenstein (introduced by me):

Body transplant expert, want to enhance Bozo (nose)

Skippy (introduced by me):

Boatswain´s Mate on board of the Eagle 1, does not trust Camel

Sandmarine (introduced by Tringle)

Sub which is able to dive in sand deserts. (Turkey still has to modify the dingy)

Swan (introduced by Plistumi)

Opponent of Eagle

Stabbed Snowman (introduced by Plistumi)

Cold case, snowman stabbed with FP´s,

Pelikan (introduced by me):

Opponent of Eagle

Raven (introduced by me):

Knight on a three wheeler, possibly died due to alcoholic poisoning after Seagull refused to accept his help

Short Story summary:

Eagle claimed himself as King Pen of Birds. Seagull poked fun at him. Swan and Pelikan did not accept Eagles claim.

Eagle wanted to kill Seagull, Started with his plane to Norway, Later he discovered his love for Seagull (or at least a sexual attraction and wanted to take her with him as one of his concubines). Due to a navigion glitch he stranded in North Africa. Some suspect Turkey to sabotaged Eagle´s plane.

There he met Dodo in his shop, Eagle realized immediately Dodo´s organisational talent.

Some skirmish with Turkey, which led finally to a "feather" transplant for Turkey.

Seagull is hiding from Eagle.

Flamethrower Girl had an affair with Mr. Frosty. Mrs. Frosty killed him (gave him his last blow job).

Flamethrower Girl wanted to kill Mrs. Frosty, but finally started a sexual relationship with Bozo (she liked especially his nose).

Bozo lost his nose in jail.

David I. Frankenstein wanted to enhance Bozo.

A with FP´s stabbed Snowman was found, no evidence that the Frosty family was involved, currently a cold case.

Eagle fell in love with Mrs. Frosty and wanted to visit her in Las Vegas (to take her with him).

He hired a crew, Dodo organized a submarine.

They met Camel at the local airport.

The Eagle 1 was on it´s way to Las Vegas (sunk a excursion ship, sighted a mermaid, Manatee, turtle,.....)

Due to not yet known circumstances the Eagle 1 passed a trans-dimensional gate and is now in Middle Earth.

To be continued. :)

(Sorry if I missed something)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
