Inky T O D - What Ink Will You Try Next?

Tried Kon Peki and it didn't quite float my boat next to Sailor Sky High Blue. It's a nice color though. I would like to try Summer Sky next but I am too lazy to go hunt for a sample at the moment. I will get around to it though.

Oh, I agree. The actual address doesn't sound as Harry Potter.

Which is really a shame, when you have a name that awesome, seems like you should take it up to eleven!

I'm starting to branch out from black ink, so I want to try ALL THE COLORS EVAR. I just got Iroshizuku's Yama-Budo and Syo-ro, Sailor Jentle Peach Pink, and Diamine Salamander in the mail yesterday, but I think I want to try Diamine Peach Haze, Merlot, Syrah, and Oxblood next, as well as Noodler's Blue Nose Bear and Black Swan in English Roses. I wanted to try BSi Australian Roses, but after the color change... not so much. (The new version is a fine color as well, but not one I'm wanting to get soon, and I imagine people will be trying to buy up all the older stock they can, so I might not get to it. Waah!)

People kept telling me to try Noodler's.

I guess I will.

You are absolutely right, but maybe I can use it at home.

Yeah, I'll probably get black, since I use my pens for school.

I was too careless when I used Baystate Blue. I didn't search any review about it before.

It turned out that it destroyed my Pilot Prera Demonstrator and my white desk.

Other inks I have are fairly easy to clean in the pen or on the surface of my desk. This one, it just stays there like forever. I've tried alcohol and detergent, neither of them worked.

Try bleach on your desk. It worked for me.

I have two montblanc bottles in the mail - royal blue and irish green, as well as a waterman purple. The next time I will be ordering some Akkerman ink, have my sight set on #6.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
