HisNibs.com update -- Happy Holidays

April 20th, 2014

Greetings,

If you're like me, you're letting out a big sigh of relief that April 15th is over. If you're unlike me, you got a refund!

Joining the very popular yellow Monteverde One Touch Stylus Tool http://hisnibs.com/one_touch_stylus_tool.htm fountain pen, we now have them in black or silver -- just like the ballpen version. NOTE: Most of these sold out immediately to those who subscribe to my newsletter. More are coming in this week if you'd like to reserve one, by emailing me at orders@hisnibs.com. To join our mailing list, follow this link or sign up on the homepage.

The 55%-off sale continues! I've added some Delta Fusion 82 rollerballs as well as some Stipula Etruria Rainbow Limited Edition transparent ballpoints. These are all new, old stock pens, and can be found at our clearance page.

These are all mint, single items --and about 55%-off of retail, so the first "I want it" email (orders@hisnibs.com) gets it, and I'll try to keep the webpage updated with 'sold out' labels as frequently as possible.

As this newsletter goes out to a mailing list of thousands of customers, please understand if there's a delay in answering your email queries or orders after one of these is sent. We will respond in order received and as soon as possible!

Join us on our Facebook HisNibs.com fan page which can be reached directly at https://www.facebook.com/HisNibs1. Come join us for what has become a lively meeting place for news about pens, ink and handwriting.

"In a fast paced world, having the right tools at hand is crucial, and the Monteverde One Touch Tool pen brings 9 tools in one premium quality writing instrument! The heavy weight, 6-sided barrel houses our medium-nibbed fountain pen at one end and an ultra sensitive touch screen stylus at the other. Under the stylus top are Phillips and flat head screwdrivers, while on the barrel are a built in level, ruler and 3 different scale functions. The chiseled spring clip will hold the One Touch Tool pen securely in your pocket, ready to handle more jobs than any other pen!"

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
