Help Identify Vintage Pen Logo

Hi FPN members,

I have seen a vintage pen recently with a brass logo on the cap dome which I could not identify. It is a cigar shaped pen made of striated material. The logo looks like the attached image. Does anybody recognize the pen company using this logo? Sorry for my ugly drawing.

Many thanks in advance.

Gokhan

The Diplomat logo is more similar to a flower with rounded points.

Drawing and description remind me of Diplomat, if wrong someone else will correct me...

Thank you so much! It is a Diplomat. Look at the engraving on this nib. It seems the logo was changed into the rounder shape later.

My two Diplomat have that logo on the top of the clip and they are not rounded at all... cigar shape and striated..

very similar to some Osmia, Faber Castell and Geha...

Glad you found out what it was...

I have the following pictures of the pen. It looks like the nib will definitely need replacement. With a little tlc it could become a decent pen again. I assume it is a piston filler. But the seller is asking approx US $100 for it and I really wonder if it will worth the money. Since you have similar Diplomat pens, I would like have your opinion.

Thank you for your interest. It is much appreciated.

It is not a difficult pen to find but you have to look for it, I do not see them often.

As far as your images show the nib needs cleaning, some polishing in the band and clip...

maybe filling system restoration but the price is worth it, i would certainly buy it...

All the best

+1 on that.

Definitely a Diplomat and one of the nicer models they made. (60's?) Sure worth a serious restoration.

You'd be surprised how that nib will clean up. As long as the tipping is there, no worries.

Beautiful pen, I'd drop a c-note on it. Go on.

Beautiful celluloid,...almost looks like Japanese "raden".

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
