Kewl! I have a Black Velvet Pro Gear with a M-F nib, but your drawings and hand are waaaaay better 'n' mine.

I add a hedgehog in thanks for the great review.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

What a great looking pen, it has definitely piqued my interest. What is the ink colour name? An exquisite combination!

Most of it is written and drawn in Iroshizuku Tsukushi. A smidge darker than diamine burnt sienna. Great ink.

I just saw your post about this pen on /r/fountainpens. Great sketches take the review to another level. The hedgehog makes me happy.

Koo, you have a talent few possess. Well seen, well said, well drawn. I commend you.

Um Yeah, I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I thought it would make me able to write and draw like you do. Nice, all the way 'round.

I have a Professional Gear Sailor 21k fine nib.

What I do not have is a well trained hand to use it correctly.

Two hedgehogs from me

Well Done

Nice review! I really like your youtube video's as they are quirky and cool and different compared to other Fountain pen youtubers.

May I suggest a video? If you could do longer video with a larger fountain pen sketch like the one seen above I think that would be an interesting video.

Sailor PG is a nice pen. No need to mention, Sailor nibs are superb, any model.

What a sketch ! Wow!

You are psychic, I had the following planned for a while. Not sure which FPN section to put it up on yet, but enjoy it here first!

I love the time-lapse sketch. It makes me want to get my PG BV and draw, draw, draw.

(Mine is loaded with JH Cafe des Isles, which, in this pen, seems unfortunately thin and weak)

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
