Montegrappa has announced 2 people for their Icons LE pens. References in each pen to the persons field.

On top of that 2 versions for each person they honor.

Ayrton Senna, racing legend, a black-silver and silver pen (available from April)

Pele, football (soccer) legend a black-silver and colored (enamel) pen (available from May)

I'm very impressed with all 4 versions.

Last time I saw the new Ayrton Senna, it was a sterling pen with tire marks on the pen body which I thought would fit better to the main theme. Maybe Montegrappa changed the design?

That may have been the version of 1995? This pen is yet to be released, April this year

I rechecked the photos and I was wrong. The reflectiong of light made me think that the engravings were tire marks. It's the new version. I got the old one but the pen was too slim. I like the slim design of Pele though.

The pen looks very nice. But I still want a slim pen with large nib. at least in the size of the large priviledge deco.

Interesting designs, both.

I will not run for them, but that has to do more with the fact I am not interested in the subject (Senna - Pele).

Otherwise very nice pens.

These seem to be designed by the part of their design staff who are not on Lysergic Acid.....

Montegrappa are designing pens to suit several different markets with wildly different tastes:  relatively conservative and affordable regular production pens, wildly ostentatious and expensive pens, and some (like these) that are in between.
