Hi guys
what do you guys think about the Pelikan 4001 royal blue i want to get it and i will use it with my Sheaffer Targa 1002 M nib
i want your advise

It's a wonderful ink with a nice color. It's easy washable and erasable and so it became the standard school ink over here. It can fade over time (especially when exposed to UV/sunlight), but has really good writing characteristics.

I can't remember a time where I didn't have it in the house (and most of of the time a pen was inked with it); I have used it so excessively that I got bored of it a little bit...

Thank you for the help Mr.Michael and yea i think its a good ink with a nice color too since i prefair Blue over Black i think ill go for it

You are very welcome.. I personally don't use this ink because I don't like Royal Blue inks in general (the color, it's too 'standard' per se), but I'm really glad you enjoy it! And your writing is very neat and personal, never forget, beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;)

There are dozens of "favourite" blues, not to mention "Royal Blues" -- see 2 or 3 other threads available today -- but the one I admire the most is MBs. Even if it is somewhat more expensive. It is also less dry than Pelikan's.

i think im going to use a bottle or two at least before i try another brand but, i think even if i change the brand ill stick to the Blue ''mostly Royal Blue'' i think i like this color :)

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
