This year will be my second time going to the Atlanta show.

I am also looking forward to getting some pens nibbed by Pendleton Brown and Mike Masuyama.

I was thinking of going Friday (for the nib work) and Saturday (more to look around - if needed).

When will you be going Tom?

When is it this year? I know last year I had to work, but that shouldn't be a problem this year. I'll be there...what days just depends on the when it is part.

Edited to add: I looked it up and see it is the weekend of April 11-13. I will most likely be there all day on Saturday. :) I imagine there will be some sort of dinner Saturday evening too.

I won't be going. Pens and ink are intriguing, but they don't speak to me as much as they do to some others. I am, however, very much looking forward to what people here have to say afterwards. I work in Midtown, and my schedule varies. So if I happen to be on shift that weekend, and someone happens into my workplace, I'll be the one with a pen in their collar.

I'm looking forward to meeting y'all. Missed it last year, but don't know what day I'll be there this year. Can't do the whole weekend.

Don't you wish we could use our pens to write on the Fountain Pen Network Fora?

Yes, Trill!!! Finally! You were my first thought when I found out I was going. I wondered if you were still participating.

I also wonder if you still have a certain red pen wrap discussed many moons ago, now. No matter. It will be good to

see your face! :bunny01:

I'll be there. Going down Friday and celebrating my third anniversary at a restaurant in Atlanta and then doing the pen show thing all day Saturday. Perhaps an FPN meetup is in order?

No, that's not blood. That's Noodler's Antietam.

Well Happy Anniversary heymatthew!

As we'll be there the whole weekend, please come by the Vanness spot and introduce yourself and play with our inks! :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
