Wancher : Penindia.com / Naranja Dolce Vita Fountain Pen

Hello, I post my question here, because Penindia.com is relied with Wancher Engeika and there's no

sub-forum pens from India.

Well, I am a poor student, so I bought a Naranja Dolce Vita from pensindia.com because

it was no longer available from ebay ( where I bought it the first time before losting it ). I paid 5$via CCavenue, then when

Mr. Raul asked I paid plus 5$ for the shipping with tracking. Then few days later I asked him if he sended the pen and

the tracking number very kindly, no answer. I sended back 4 or 5 others mails to different adress on the site, few days later no response. He stopped answering me since I paid. 11 days passed since I paid, still no answer.

So I was wondering is pensindia.com reliable ? Have anyone dealt with them ?

I had couple of dealing with them. It went ok.

However, Naranja Dolce Vita is a cheap chinese pen which is easily available for Inr 150. you have paid a lot to him already.

I forgott to mention that I bought roller & fountain pen set, because it is the only way to get the fountain pen, don't care about the roller, will give it to my mom,

When I first bought Naranja Dolce Vita alone, from Taizo , I paid 12 dollars, so 10 $ for the set is ok. Thanks for your answer.

Does anybody else outside from India have dealt with him ? I find a bit strange that he doesn't answer after the payement.

hi Velvet, well, I have bought Sailor from Raul and he, earlier, did not respond but after some emails he started replying. Moreover, you can call directly on: +919730028313. I did not have major issues with Raul but just that he takes time... He was in Japan at that time... so maybe he is just busy. I got my pen within a week, and I am in India. I ordered more from him and I hope I get them soon.

A suggestion: Go for Lamy if you want to use a good fountain pen within your budget. That comes for around $20 (Vista or Safari). The nib is really good-- Medium or Fine.

Bought a Sailor from them. Its a kind of mom and pop operation so guess there is a bit of time taken for replies. You can try calling Sandeep on +91-9730028313

Engeika is Japanese. Most of their "Wancher" pens are painted and re-branded as Wancher from other brands. So unless the pen itself is Indian/Chinese, it belongs under Japanese (or if brand Specific, under miscellaneous brands).

Most of what I see Engeika paint and rebrand are usually Sailors or Platinums, though there's been a couple Chinese pens (like the christmas themed one being a Kaigelu).

If you paid with paypal or similar service you can always file a dispute since there's no communication going.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
