Yes correct, the wider bands will be engraved in two lines

Francis

Correction !`

Conid finally decided to engrave the LE text lengthwise in the barrel.

This will be done in Italic letters by a professional artisan engraver.

Consequently the titanium ring between the filling knob and the barrel will be reduced to its original width, being identical to the width of the clip ring.

this pen looks lovely. wonderful francis.

a general question about the modern snake clips, how is it held in place preventing axial sliding? by friction and the winding tension of snake tail alone?

In case you wish to write to me, pls use ONLY email by clicking here. I do not check PMs. Thank you.

Hi Hari,

The spiral windings of the snake's tail are silver soldered, making it in fact a solid ring.

The bore in the ring is made conical and fits perfectly around the conical shaped cap

Hi all!

Attached a few"sneak preview" pictures of the exclusive packing of the Kingsize" In Flanders fields" LE Bulk filler in Tibaldi Imperio

On the cover flap of the leather box you can see the AISI 316 stainless plate on which the famous "in Flanders fields" poem of John Mc Crae is engraved.

In the box a plexiglas plate featuring the pocket for the pen, a pocket in which a "dog plate" with the name of the owner and the pen's serial number is engraved.

Underneath the plexiglas insert a picture showing a field of poppies with one flower in its typical color.

A USB stick with a short historical background of the Great War will also be included.( laying under the "dog plate")

The pen itself is actually in production, in the second half of May I will show the final pictures, including the pen with the artist's engraving.

Note the pen is identical to the earlier posted pictures, only difference being the width of band at the filling knob - which becomes now identical to the width of the clip band - and the lengthwise artist"s engraving on the barrel

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
