What are the different between dream touch and smart touch ? Thank you for showing us such a nice collections

The Dreamtouch nibs are somewhat soft and made from Palladium. The Smartouch nibs are firm and made from Steel, they also wrap around the feed, a design intended to reduce the tendancy of ink to dryout on an uncapped nib.

I'll look after that Divina for you

I walked into the store and saw the rare beauty... It has a F nib... Hopefully that can be remedied in Florence... More of a Stub guy... And the tubular nib on the homosapien was an impulse addition... But Marco @ Novelli (novelli.it) and Stefano @ Stillograph (Stillographcorsani.com) had wonderful pieces and we're pleasant to deal with.

Is that a Homo Sapiens with a Smartouch nib???? Are the Dreamtouch and Smartouch nibs interchangeable?

It is..... And as far as being interchangeable.... Not sure what they did to install it... But the shop I bought it from, the man who I dealt with is very close with visconti... So I guess they worked magic for him... Pretty fancy I thought.

It would make sense for the Dreamtouch and Smartouch nib units to be interchangable, as that would give Visconti a great deal of product flexibility.

"Homosapien crystal... Divina Elegance oversize blue... And the Opera gold dust." Congratulations, what a trio !

The GoldDust has a lovely looking resin. It appears OperaMaster size. There weren't very many made were there ?

There were 60... And when I spoke with Silvano @ the Florence shop, he said that it was a US release... It is my favorite of them all, by far. It is one of the heaviest and largest of the Viscontis I have. Probably is the Opera Master size.

So here is the updated collection.... My daily writer at work (maintenance environment) is the homosapien bronze Stub, with sailor ultra black ink... Amazingly rugged and reliable. Desktop writers include the Opera gold dust 39/60 in Stub with Edelstein onyx. Opera crystal Stub with J herbin Bleu ocean... And the black Divina Stub filled with J herbin Bleu prevenche... Anybody else out there have a gold dust Opera that they consider their unquestionable #1??

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
