I emailed you a while ago with no response. Does that mean I am on the waiting list or should I contact you again?

On the waiting list, be patient :) .

Your Urkundentinte is intriguing; I would very much appreciate being put in line for purchase of this ink. Actually, all of the ink swabs are intriguing, but I'm a relatively devoted blue black user. Thanks for your consideration.

Beautiful colors. I am currently trying to make pomegranate ink using Fiberdrunk's recipe. How do you get the colors? Adding commercial fountain pen ink?

Nice looking stuff...

I absolutely adore Turkish Night, and want to get a back up bottle of it. I have it, Darkening Absinthe, and the original (i.e., more greenish tinged) formula of Terra Incinerata; plus someone gave me a sample of Urkundentinte (which I also like a whole lot so I want to get a full bottle of it. And I want to try Orient-Occidents and Sang Real (still making up my mind about Pupura Imperialis and the reformulated T.I.).

How do you guys get these inks? I sent an email requesting to order some two years ago with no response. What is your usual wait?

We haven't seen pharmacist on FPN for several months. I hope he's ok. I know he had trouble getting a blue dye (I think it was) and that may have hampered his ability to make his urkundentinte.

Find my homemade ink recipes on my Flickr page here.

Pharmacist posted in the past week or two on another thread:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/274189-yes-i-am-still-alive-and-kickingsorry-for-the-inconvenience/

Apparently he's been having an attack of life. To answer Brian C's question (somewhat) a year or so ago Easter time Pharmacist posted about having a batch go bad; then had a family emergency, IIRC.

In the linked thread it sounded as if he just has been having to travel a lot for work recently, and hasn't had time to do any ink brewing.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
