American Stationery Order

Recommended Posts

Read some good things about their products so I ordered some Monarch-size paper and envelopes. I wanted some of the "standard" letter sheets but I'm used to Crane's size and A.S. was more different than I wanted to try for now. The monarch sheets are slightly longer than Crane's so that's OK with me. Although the aper is thinner and lighter than Crane it's very FP friendly. I sacrificed a sheet and wrote on it with 20 different pen/ink colour combos and none bled through. No feathering either.

Now that I've tried it I may order some of the other size and see if I can get used to it. Their prices are reasonable and the printing is good=quality. It's not embossed but it's nice.

Thanks for posting your positive experience with this product. I have hesitated whether to place an order. May I ask specifically which products you purchased? I think the paper may not be the same across all products offered. Thanks so much.

I've placed at least 6 orders from this business and have been satisfied with the product every time. It isn't Crane Cotton but it is very nice, and fountain pen friendly.

Edited to add that I have no affiliation with the business or personnel - just a satisfied user.

KP,

I ordered the SKU-M1_M which is 50 monarch sheets and envelopes. the sheets are monogramed and the envelopes have return addresses printed on the back flap. I also ordered am MSS which is 100 plain monarch sheets. Total with shipping is $51.85 to Victoria,TX. There are other combos that might be cheaper if you order more stuff but I was hesitant on my first order.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
