Another Wonderful Experience With Bryant At Pentime.com

I am a very OCD pen collector, so ordering pens online is always a little iffy. I recently had another wonderful experience with Bryant Greer at Pentime and Chatterly Luxuries that I wanted to share. I ordered a pen from and Italian maker and when it arrived, although the pen was beautiful, there were a few things about it that I thought could have been assembled better. They weren't really defects, just fit and finish issues. I contacted Bryant, who responded very quickly and checked the issues on the other pens of that type in his stock. Although the issues did exist on some of the pens, he found one that didn't have them. He quickly worked out a way for me to ship the pen I had for repair and then shipped me the new one without the issue so that I wouldn't have to wait. I love the new pen and am a very happy customer. Unfortunately for my bank account, I am sure I will buy pens from Bryant again!

That's why I might as well have my checks deposited straight to his account. Sigh...

Bryant is an outstanding pen seller with whom to do business. We first learned of Bry here on FPN, met him in D.C. at that Show years ago now. We have continued to work with him to find and purchase specific pens. He is 100% consistent to work with. He keeps us in the loop when pens are being searched for or being made. He follows through on what he says he will do; He is trustworthy. He's a good communicator & just plain enjoyable to buy pens and accessories from; he's a barrel of fun at a pen show. He's great with folks of all ages and never makes a person feel foolish for not knowing something. He steps up to the plate to make things right whenever the need exists. Bry truly wants his pen friends ( a buyer soon becomes a pen friend to Bry ) to thoroughly enjoy a pen bought from him and have a great story to tell about its acquisition. One always gets great value for the price from Bry!! Look everywhere...BUT, definitely GO THERE.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
