I enjoyed looking through your website, except, the script is painful to try to read. I was using my iPad so I could easily make it larger, but then I couldn't see a whole line. Script should generally only be used for things like headlines where it is in a large enough size to be readable and is in limited doses. To be honest, I gave up after a couple of pages.

Ted A,

I'm still leaning the web design things so feedback is greatly appreciated. I'll look for the other fonts.

Thank you!

I'm glad you posted. I purchased one of your pens second hand a while ago and never new who the maker was. It is one of the better kit-less pens I've used.

Those look like nice pens! I do like the styling of them, but forgive me for my impunity, but I need to ask. How, by any means, is this related to Marbie Todd pens? Other than being made in New York, these pens look like they take the same #6 Jowo nibs as every other custom penmaker on here, including Edison Pens, JEB pens, Scriptorium, and even myself. Why not sail under your own colors, instead of resurrecting a company that shares just a common town of creation?

The text is hard for me to read, but those pens just keep drawing me back. You do lovely work. I wish I'd seen this two weeks ago before I went through this and next month's budget.

Thanks for kind words!

I just checked my website with my iPhone, and found the font is deferent from original. Apparently, The iPhone or iPad doesn't have the font I used (comic sans), it changed to something similar but heavily scripted one... OK, I changed font. Please try again if it's better.

Inkling13,

Thank you for the kind comment. the Fountain Pen Hospital owns Mabie Todd brand. Although you can't to see on the pictures above, pens are engraved Mabie, Todd & Co.names and edition numbers on the caps.

I will have to wait until I get home to check on the iPad, but my phone shows nice, easy to read text.

Thank you for the change. (though my bank account might not appreciate it.)

The design is definitely classic and useful, the furniture accents are nice. They look like my Gems and I like writing with them a lot. Congrats on your launch!

Very nice looking pens. As an aside, while your web-site looks good there is always room to tinker if you are so inclined. Adobe is expensive but good, but the bottom line is that you can do it all yourself with nothing more sophisticated than Note Pad. I like to use Note Pad++ which is a free download. Lots of good books on web design out there, too. And it's very easy to learn. Then again, if your are making pens, how would you find the time?

Charles,

Thank you for the kind comment and advice. The Notepad may be good if you know the cording, but I'm not. I know there are tons of free tutorials in the internet and I use many of them for my learning. My website is not perfect at the moment, but it's functioning and slowly improving. It may takes longer to reach professional level website, but I'd like to tinkering it myself. Of course I spend most of time for pen making, but I can spare small time for playing with my website.

I'm very impressed with the pens on your site, including your choice of colors and materials. You do excellent work.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
