Here's a shot from my desk that I took a few minutes ago: 161P with broad blue refill, 149 F with MB BB, Dostoevsky F with Oyster grey and MB pocket card holder. Enjoy! Contribute!

Still debating on whether I should keep the 149 and the Heritage 1912.

Just picked up my first MB this past week. It's a Boheme Noir small size and I picked it up brand new with dealer stamp for less than 1/2 of retail (Did I do well on the price?). This little guy (even being a cartridge only pen) is fantastic and the medium nib writes smooth as glass. Dare I say it writes smoother than either of my Pelikans which I didn't think was possible. Anyway, here are a few photos from this weekend:

what's the first one from the left?

A Cartier Pasha, M Nib. Just like the MontBlanc, it writes smooth as glass (although I suspect both brands being under the Richemont Group umbrella, they are probably made in the same place by the same people. Both are marked as being made in Germany.). Here are a couple additional photos:

Can you name them all?

Cheers

Michael

From the left: Cor!, Gosh!, Wow!, Blimey!, Amazing!, No Way!, etc etc.

No, can't name them, but can certainly admire them. Very nice.

Very nice thread, too.

Hope to contribute - once my photography comes up to scratch.

Thanks.

That is very extensive collection of MB safeties and push button/knob fillers. I mostly collect piston fillers so can't name them all. Starting from left first three are MB202, MB124, MB104 and last one is war time MB324. I think sixth one from left is MB222. Rest I have no clue.

Oh gosh, you're making me dream of the Dostoevsky LE again, which I had managed to extinguish from my brain! I can't wait to receive my vintage MB 124 so I can add it to this lot...

I only have one MB---a 32---so how did I end up with so many inks?

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
