So it’s no secret to anybody who knows me.
I like green.
I have 6 or 7 green shirts I wear to school regularly, and a green pen I made myself, along with a couple of green pencils.

A while back I had my resin-pouring-friend Bob mix up a jade green for me – the pen at the top in the picture above. I love it. Reminds me of the vintage Sheaffer and Parker materials.

 

But the way those vintage materials change and get darker as they age is really cool, too, so I asked him to make up a darker green for me…

 

And I LOVE it. It turned out SO well. I can’t wait to get this pen finished.

I love all these custom resins. If you have any ideas for a pen you’d like to have made, but you can’t seem to find just the right color, let me and Bob know, and we can try to mix it up for you.

The jade green looks very authetic vintage. I am being constantly drawn to the more traditionally coloured modern pens (think marbled blue duofold, rose crush CS winston etc) and your flat top is a great example of that. Like :thumbup:

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy.       I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
