Gallatin 7 - Dalmatian Spots cartridge/converter fountain pen

At long last, what was supposed to have been the first spotted pen is done. Well, sort of. I got a little aggressive with the cap finial seam bevel, so I may need to touch that up a bit, but it isn't bad as-is anyway.

Photos were tough for me. Just when I thought I had my photography skills up to minimum snuff, a black and white pen pops up The white background proved to be the best of the bunch somehow.

 

This is a large sized Gallatin fountain pen - 14mm cap threads, triple start. #6 JoWo nib. Hope you like. Thanks for looking

That is a very fun pen. Do you plan to make one in red as well? Just kidding. Are the black dots in the material or did you apply them?

The dots are in the material. It's all resin.

I also made a purple and white one, but I goofed it up with an experiment gone bad. It looked great though...

I've already made bumblebee pen blanks They are made from a more brittle resin, sadly They'll make a beautiful pen, but don't drop it on a tile floor....

 

I do have an idea for a different sort of bumblebee though, with the good resin.

Whenever I see the title of the thread, I always assume it is about a pen made in Dalmatia (in Croatia) :-)

 

Although not my taste (when it comes to what I'd like to own), it still is a fun design!
